Software Engineer II

About this role

Fivetran seeks a Software Engineer II to build enterprise-grade features for their data pipeline platform in Oakland. You'll work on high-performance distributed systems, focusing on performance optimization, data security, and cluster orchestration for customers at scale.

What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable distributed data pipeline features and performance improvements on cloud infrastructure
• Develop, maintain, and test production code with high quality standards
• Conduct design and code reviews with team members
• Collaborate with product managers, support, and stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions
• Participate in periodic on-call rotation for system support
• Ensure Fivetran remains secure and reliable within customers' data infrastructure

• Backend and frontend software development using industry best practices

• Data security and cluster orchestration
• Well-structured and performant code writing
• System design and architecture
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science
• Experience building reusable libraries and platforms
