Engineer II, Flight Systems

Flagship Pioneering is looking for a UAS Flight Engineer to join their hardware team in Boulder, CO. The role involves hands-on engineering for fixed-wing UAV development, including designing, operating, and integrating aerial systems for demanding missions.

What you'll do

• Configure and tune autopilot firmware for fixed-wing UAVs
• Design and build fixed-wing airframes for various payloads
• Plan BVLOS operations and execute flight tests
• Develop C2 link architecture for long-range operations
• Analyze flight logs to improve vehicle performance
• Collaborate with teams to validate onboard sensors

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's in relevant engineering field
• 3-6 years experience with Ardupilot systems
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python
• Practical fixed-wing airframe experience
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (or ability to obtain)
• Experience with RF link design
• Electronics integration and PCB design
• Strong documentation skills
