Software Engineer, Cellular

About this role

Flock is seeking a Software Engineer to design and optimize their 5G cellular connectivity solution, bridging drone hardware with cloud systems. You'll own the full stack from firmware to cloud integration, working on multi-link performance optimization and flight reliability in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

What you'll do

• Implement 5G features across radio firmware, drivers, and user space
• Integrate multiple cellular links into a single optimized stream for capacity and latency
• Connect cloud-based solutions to cellular systems and optimize flight reliability KPIs
• Establish performance metrics and monitor real-world test results end-to-end
• Collaborate with RF, Systems, Device, and Cloud teams on complex integration
• Conduct hands-on field testing across Atlanta, Mountain View, Boston, or NYC offices

• Wireless standards (3GPP preferred)
• Cross-functional collaboration and communication
• Experience with commercial IoT/mobile devices
• Qualcomm cellular radio systems (preferred)
• Database tools like Databricks or Snowflake (preferred)
