About this role

Fluidstack seeks a Commissioning Engineer to own building management and electrical power management systems across its rapidly expanding AI data center portfolio. You'll lead the full lifecycle of critical infrastructure controls—from new facility commissioning to live operations troubleshooting—while establishing standards for fleet-wide systems handling 50+ GW of compute infrastructure.

What you'll do

  • Own commissioning and control logic development for generators, UPS, switchgear, PDUs, chillers, cooling towers, and related critical infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot BMS/EPMS systems in live environments and lead root cause analysis with corrective action closure
  • Lead controls improvement projects end-to-end with budget, schedule, and delivery accountability
  • Establish and drive BMS/EPMS standards across Fluidstack's facility fleet using open and proprietary protocols
  • Collaborate with construction, design, and site teams to integrate learnings from live systems into facility designs
  • Maintain continuous uptime and system performance for AI compute customer operations

  • BMS and EPMS controls in mission-critical or data center environments
  • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting of live control systems
  • Control logic and GUI development
  • Open and proprietary control protocols (BACnet, Modbus)
  • Critical infrastructure equipment expertise (generators, UPS, chillers, switchgear, cooling)
  • Project management with budget and schedule ownership
  • PLC and SCADA platforms (bonus)
  • Data center controls or NETA/commissioning certification (bonus)
