About this role
Fluidstack is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to lead the design, development, and commissioning of control systems (SCADA, BMS, EPMS) for massive-scale data center deployments across the US and Europe. You'll own projects end-to-end, mentor junior engineers, and travel 50-70% to sites to ensure systems function properly before operations handoff.
What you'll do
- Design and commission SCADA, BMS, and EPMS systems across multiple data center sites
- Develop control architectures, functional specifications, P&IDs, and templates for standardization across projects
- Program and configure PLCs, SCADA, and HMIs; conduct FAT and IST testing before site commissioning
- Mentor and review junior controls engineers across parallel greenfield deployments
- Lead commissioning activities on-site with trade contractors, design engineers, and stakeholders
- Travel 50-70% to project sites for hands-on commissioning work

- Industrial control system design and commissioning leadership
- Ladder logic, function block, and PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, or Ignition)
- SCADA, DCS, and industrial networking systems
- FAT/IST testing and commissioning protocols
- Technical communication and project leadership
- Data center infrastructure familiarity
- ASHRAE, BCxA, NETA, BACnet/Modbus standards (bonus)
- PE license or 3D modeling tools (bonus)
