About this role
Fluidstack seeks a senior electrical engineer to design and standardize power infrastructure across AI data center campuses, managing renewable energy, battery storage, temporary power solutions, and mobile substations to accelerate deployment of large-scale compute facilities.
What you'll do
- Define reference architecture for on-site and supplemental power generation balancing cost, operational efficiency, and reliability
- Design temporary power and mobile substation solutions to accelerate facility energization ahead of permanent utility infrastructure
- Lead electrical design and integration of solar, wind, and battery energy storage into medium-voltage campus systems
- Evaluate and justify adoption of emerging power technologies including fuel cells, advanced batteries, and microgrid controllers
- Troubleshoot power availability and performance issues across the fleet, conducting root cause analysis and sharing lessons learned
- Standardize design packages and procedures to ensure consistent quality and faster project delivery

- Power systems and distribution engineering (8+ years)
- Temporary power and mobile substation design and deployment
- Renewable energy integration (solar and wind)
- Medium-voltage equipment (transformers, switchgear, generators, protection systems)
- Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash)
- Battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- NERC/FERC and ISO/RTO interconnection requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred)
