About this role

Fluidstack seeks a senior Electrical Engineer to lead high-voltage substation design and standards development across multiple data center campuses. You'll direct the full lifecycle of HV/MV substation projects—from initial siting through energization—while managing engineering teams, consultants, and equipment manufacturers across major grid regions.

What you'll do

  • Lead HV/MV substation design (up to 345 kV) from concept through detailed design, construction, and energization
  • Review and approve EPC and consultant deliverables including layouts, electrical drawings, protection systems, and construction documents
  • Perform engineering studies: load flow, short circuit, arc flash, grounding, relay coordination, and cable ampacity analysis
  • Develop equipment specifications and RFPs; evaluate bids and witness factory acceptance tests for transformers and switchgear
  • Coordinate with utilities and ISOs/RTOs on interconnection agreements and technical requirements
  • Support construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting during phased energization
