About this role
Fluidstack seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and deployment of massive-scale AI data centers, owning mechanical and cooling systems from concept through build. You'll develop modular templates for rapid global expansion while managing high-density, liquid-cooled infrastructure at gigawatt scale.
What you'll do
- Own mechanical systems end-to-end for AI data centers, from concept and modeling through final deployment
- Lead design and evolution of cooling systems (chilled water, CDUs, direct liquid cooling) as company scales
- Develop and maintain modular mechanical templates for repeatable global deployment
- Act as technical interface between internal teams and external consultants on design alignment
- Build supply-chain-aware solutions that integrate cleanly and deploy rapidly
- Support planning and design for multi-gigawatt campus infrastructure

- Advanced cooling system design (liquid cooling, CDUs, chilled water loops)
- Thermal modeling and CFD analysis
- Supply chain and constructability planning
- External consultant and vendor management
- Modular and prefab design methodology
- PE license (bonus)
- ASHRAE TC 9.9 knowledge (bonus)
