About this role

Zipline is seeking a hands-on Electrical Systems Engineer to design and oversee the electrical architecture for their drone charging towers. This role combines technical expertise in electrical systems with practical field work and financial acumen to ensure scalable, cost-effective, and compliant tower deployments globally. The ideal candidate will be comfortable both designing complex systems and getting their hands dirty on-site during installations.

What you'll do

  • Design power distribution and cable harnesses for charging towers.
  • Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) and conduct cost trade-off analyses.
  • Lead regulatory sign-off processes and ensure NEC compliance.
  • Support on-site deployments and ensure designs translate to real-world installations.
  • Build and present data-backed arguments for design decisions.
  • Document and manage complex wire runs.
