About this role

Zipline is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to own subsystems of their next-generation droid delivery container, EV3, from initial concept through production. This role involves collaborating closely with industrial designers, defining requirements, creating CAD models (Siemens NX preferred), and ensuring designs are manufacturable and scalable. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, hands-on prototyping skills, and experience working with contract manufacturers.

What you'll do

  • Own subsystem design from architecture to production ramp.
  • Collaborate with industrial design to translate aesthetics into engineered products.
  • Define and negotiate subsystem requirements with cross-functional teams.
  • Design in CAD (Siemens NX) and iterate on designs quickly.
  • Design test fixtures and assembly aids for efficient production.
