About this role
Zipline is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to own the mechanical architecture and design of camera and optical modules for their autonomous delivery systems. This hands-on role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, optics, and manufacturing processes to create robust, reliable assemblies that ensure optimal image quality and system performance in challenging environments. You'll be responsible for the entire lifecycle, from concept to production and fleet operation.
What you'll do
- Design camera and optical assemblies from concept to production.
- Translate requirements into measurable mechanical specifications.
- Develop tolerance models to ensure image quality and perception outcomes.
- Design lightweight housings and interfaces for high-volume production.
