Zipline is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to design and own crucial ground systems for their autonomous delivery aircraft. This role involves end-to-end system delivery, from initial concept through production and ongoing support, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem-solver with experience in complex electromechanical design and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

What you'll do

  • Own the design and delivery of mechanical and electromechanical subsystems.
  • Create CAD assemblies, detailed drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Develop and execute verification plans including testing and analysis.
  • Lead supplier selection, qualification, and production ramp-up.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various engineering teams.
