About this role
Formic seeks a Controls & Automation Engineer to support and optimize its growing fleet of deployed robotic systems in manufacturing environments. You'll diagnose complex automation failures, implement reliability improvements, and work cross-functionally to ensure consistent system performance across diverse industrial applications.
What you'll do
- Diagnose and resolve complex automation failures to minimize production downtime
- Design and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
- Lead system-level continuous improvement initiatives including hardware and software upgrades
- Provide remote and onsite technical support, troubleshooting guidance, and issue triage
- Analyze production data and diagnostic trends to identify performance gaps
- Mentor field technicians and collaborate with Product, Deployment, and Engineering teams on system standardization
