About this role
Formic seeks a Robotics & Automation Project Engineer to manage the technical health and optimization of deployed robotic systems across manufacturing facilities. You'll blend hands-on troubleshooting with proactive system improvements, ensuring fleet reliability while partnering with cross-functional teams to enhance long-term performance and customer success.
What you'll do
- Diagnose and resolve complex automation failures to minimize production downtime
- Design and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to improve system reliability
- Lead system-level continuous improvement initiatives including hardware and software upgrades
- Provide remote and onsite technical support, triaging issues and guiding troubleshooting efforts
- Analyze production data and diagnostic trends to identify systemic performance gaps
- Mentor field technicians and serve as escalation point for complex fleet-wide technical issues
