Electrical Engineer

About this role

Formlabs seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and develop electronic systems for 3D printing technology used by industry leaders worldwide. This full-stack role spans circuit design, PCB layout, firmware development, and cross-disciplinary integration with mechanical and software components, requiring hands-on involvement from prototype through production.

What you'll do

• Design and build prototypes and production electronic systems including circuits, PCB layouts, and embedded firmware
• Own complete projects with responsibility for shipping products rather than specializing in single disciplines
• Design subsystems like sensors, actuators, and optoelectronics with integrated electrical and mechanical considerations
• Validate designs using simulations and experimental data to support engineering decisions
• Support product lifecycle from research through field debugging and failure analysis
• Collaborate across disciplines to solve complex integration challenges

• Analog and digital circuit design
• PCB layout and board-level debugging
• Electronics prototyping and validation

• Embedded software development (C/C++ microcontroller firmware preferred)
