About this role
Formlabs seeks an R&D Engineer to develop and advance 3D printing technologies and processes. You'll design experiments, validate innovations across hardware and software, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve next-generation printers and materials.
What you'll do
- Design and conduct experiments to validate new 3D printing techniques and architectures
- Develop test fixtures and analyze experimental data to inform engineering improvements
- Evaluate printer performance and identify optimization opportunities
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams to implement design enhancements
- Investigate emerging technologies and printing materials
- Validate Galvo control refinements and other precision printer components

- Python or MATLAB scientific computing
- Mechanical design and CAD modeling
- Mechatronics systems understanding
- Test fixture design and fabrication
