Design Engineer

About this role

Foxglove is seeking a Design Engineer to bridge design and engineering on their physical AI data platform. You'll create intuitive interfaces for complex robotics data workflows, build scalable UI components, and collaborate across product, design, and engineering teams to help engineers develop and operate robots effectively.

What you'll do

• Develop front-end features and collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to launch new platform tools
• Create advanced data visualizations and interactions for ML and autonomy engineers
• Build and maintain accessible UI components using modern front-end technologies
• Gather customer feedback and implement user-centered design improvements
• Evolve and scale the design system and component library for rapid feature development

• Front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, TypeScript)
• Visual and interaction design with strong UX/UI principles
• Figma proficiency
• Component library design and maintenance
• Data visualization and complex systems design
• Prototyping and rapid implementation
• Cross-functional collaboration and communication
• Documentation and technical writing
