Software Engineer, New Grad

About this role

Join Foxglove as a Machine Learning Engineer to build inference infrastructure and ML tooling for robotics and autonomous systems. You'll work on model serving, semantic search, and data pipelines that help engineering teams deploy and operate robots at scale across production environments.

What you'll do

• Build and optimize inference infrastructure for model serving and latency/cost optimization
• Select and deploy ML models for object detection, embedding computation, and multimodal robotics data processing
• Develop semantic search capabilities over large-scale robotics datasets using vector databases
• Design evaluation and training pipelines to accelerate model iteration
• Ingest and serve massive volumes of sensor data through batch and real-time pipelines
• Collaborate with product engineers to ship features for robotics teams

• Machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and inference tooling (TorchServe, vLLM, Triton)
• Python, Rust, C++, or TypeScript programming
• Distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Vector databases and embedding models
• SQL databases and data-intensive systems
• Kubernetes and containerization
• Model optimization techniques (quantization, distillation, mixed precision)
• Sensor data pipelines and multimodal data processing
