Backend Developer SME

Freedom Technology Solutions Group seeks a Senior Backend Developer to provide technical leadership on intelligence analysis platforms, focusing on enterprise architecture, cloud modernization, and geospatial technology initiatives. This role combines hands-on development with strategic oversight of backend systems, DevSecOps practices, and client-facing technical leadership.

What you'll do

• Define enterprise backend architecture strategies and modernization roadmaps
• Lead geospatial platform development and integration initiatives
• Oversee development and sustainment of backend systems across cloud and hybrid environments
• Enforce DevSecOps standards, CI/CD practices, and engineering governance
• Interface with senior client leadership to negotiate requirements and drive consensus
• Serve as technical thought leader for backend and geospatial communities

• Backend development (Python, Node.js, Java)
• AWS services (S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, ECS, ECR, IAM)
• Event-driven and serverless architectures
• Docker/Podman containerization
• GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Secure development practices (IAM, ABAC, FGAC)
• Distributed systems design and debugging
• Geospatial systems and GIS platforms (desired)
