About this role
General Matter is seeking a PE Civil Engineer to lead the design and execution of a state-of-the-art nuclear fuel enrichment facility in Los Angeles. You'll collaborate across disciplines to develop structural designs, manage permitting, ensure regulatory compliance, and oversee construction administration for this greenfield project.
What you'll do
- Prepare engineering documents including specifications, plans, cost estimates, and design plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related software
- Assess site conditions including soil composition, hydrology, terrain, and topography to inform facility planning
- Own civil permitting processes and coordinate with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and environmental consultants
- Conduct risk assessments for hydrology, grading, and flood constraints; implement mitigation measures
- Lead site safety planning and coordinate field work activities
- Collaborate with EPC managers, construction teams, and subcontractors on site development strategies
