About this role

General Matter is seeking a Fluid Systems Engineer to design and deploy critical fluid handling systems for a uranium enrichment facility in Los Angeles. You'll own fluid systems from initial sizing through production, ensuring reliability and manufacturability while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

  • Perform system-level sizing and performance analysis to establish requirements and operating margins
  • Develop hardware concepts and evaluate design trades for performance, safety, and manufacturability
  • Design pressurized and unpressurized components, creating CAD models, drawings, and specifications
  • Conduct structural and mechanical analysis under pressure, thermal, and operational loads
  • Lead first-article builds and work with manufacturing to establish production processes
  • Plan and execute development, qualification, and acceptance testing for critical hardware
