About this role
General Matter seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop detailed piping and equipment designs for a large-scale nuclear enrichment facility. You'll translate process designs into engineered systems while performing component selection, routing analysis, and structural validation for a mission-driven nuclear energy company.
What you'll do
- Convert P&IDs and process architecture into detailed mechanical designs for piping and equipment systems
- Size and select components including pipes, valves, fittings, and supports based on process conditions
- Develop piping routing plans and layouts ensuring efficient, maintainable configurations
- Conduct structural and flow analysis to validate system performance
- Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to high-hazard industrial plant environments
- Deliver robust solutions for advanced nuclear enrichment production
