About this role

General Matter seeks an experienced PE mechanical engineer to design and deliver mechanical systems for a cutting-edge uranium enrichment facility in Los Angeles. You'll lead HVAC, central plant, and distribution system design from concept through permitting while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams on this mission-critical greenfield project.

What you'll do

  • Design and analyze HVAC systems, central plant equipment (chillers, boilers, heat exchangers), and distribution networks (ductwork, piping)
  • Prepare permit-level design packages using Revit with comprehensive drawings, calculations, and specifications
  • Collaborate with structural, electrical, architectural, and chemical engineers on integrated mechanical solutions
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements for safety, performance, and code compliance
  • Support concept development, feasibility studies, and scope definition aligned with performance and cost goals
  • Interface with vendors and troubleshoot design issues through construction and commissioning
