About this role

General Matter, a nuclear fuel enrichment company backed by Founders Fund, seeks an experienced Network Engineer to design and operate multi-building network infrastructure supporting engineering, manufacturing, and high-performance computing workloads. This hands-on role involves architecting secure, air-gapped networks, managing enterprise-scale connectivity, and optimizing HPC cluster infrastructure in a fast-growing, technically demanding environment.

What you'll do

  • Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise and lab networks across multiple buildings and facilities
  • Architect air-gapped and isolated networks with strict segmentation and access control
  • Design and optimize high-performance compute cluster network infrastructure in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Configure and manage switching, routing, wireless, and firewall systems from vendors like Cisco and Fortinet
  • Implement fiber-based WAN connectivity and manage LAN/WAN infrastructure including VLANs, VPNs, and DNS
  • Deploy network monitoring systems and develop resilient architectures with redundancy and observability
