About this role
General Matter, a nuclear fuel enrichment company backed by top-tier investors, seeks a Security Engineer to design and maintain security controls across cloud, on-premises, and highly restricted environments. You'll protect critical systems supporting nuclear fuel production while working cross-functionally with engineering, IT, and operations teams in a mission-driven, fast-paced organization.
What you'll do
- Design and implement security controls across product, infrastructure, corporate, and regulated environments
- Secure cloud, on-premises, air-gapped, and classified systems aligned with NRC and federal requirements
- Support security operations including monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management
- Implement and improve identity and access management controls across workforce and production systems
- Partner with engineering teams to embed application security and secure development practices
- Contribute to governance, risk, and compliance efforts including policy implementation and audit readiness
