About this role

General Matter seeks an experienced Structural Design Engineer to lead structural design and analysis for a cutting-edge nuclear fuel enrichment facility in Los Angeles. You'll collaborate across disciplines to develop code-compliant designs from concept through commissioning, ensuring compliance with NRC, ASME, and ANSI standards while managing vendor activities and construction administration.

What you'll do

  • Lead structural design, analysis, and criteria development for enrichment facility systems
  • Ensure compliance with NRC, ASME, ANSI, and applicable regulatory codes and standards
  • Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and chemical engineers on integrated structural solutions
  • Prepare permit-level designs, drawing sets in Revit/AutoCAD, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Review and approve work by junior engineers, BIM specialists, and contractors; serve as Engineer of Record
  • Provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning, including RFI responses and inspections
