Automation Service Engineer
About this role
GenScript seeks an Automation Service Engineer to provide technical support and maintenance for laboratory automation platforms at their Piscataway facility. You'll troubleshoot and repair complex equipment including Tecan and Hamilton systems, perform preventive maintenance, conduct root cause analysis, and develop knowledge bases and SOPs to ensure reliable automation operations.
What you'll do
- Provide daily technical support, troubleshooting, and equipment recovery for laboratory automation platforms
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, sensor, robotic, and software-related issues
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and improve reliability
- Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions
- Develop and maintain documentation including SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge bases
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, and automation improvement projects
