Global Data Engineer

About this role

Goodway Group seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and build scalable data systems supporting analytics and business operations in a remote-first, award-winning media and marketing firm. You'll own production data pipelines, drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and translate business needs into reliable technical solutions.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines and platforms for analytics and ML workloads
• Own data architecture and system design at the team level, including data models and storage solutions
• Enforce code quality, testing standards, and best practices across data workflows
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to define requirements and align with business goals
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews, documentation, and technical guidance
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks including scalability, data integrity, and edge cases

What they're looking for

• 5+ years data engineering experience
• SQL and Python/Scala programming
• Scalable data pipeline design (batch and streaming)
• Modern data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks)
• Orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Data modeling and system design
• Cross-team collaboration and mentoring
