Junior Controls Engineer

About this role

Gotion Inc. seeks a Junior Controls Engineer to support battery manufacturing operations at their Manteno, IL facility. You'll work with experienced teams on PLC programming, equipment troubleshooting, automation projects, and process optimization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you'll do

• Support day-to-day manufacturing operations and equipment performance monitoring
• Troubleshoot control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation equipment
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Maintenance teams on equipment issues
• Assist with equipment startups, commissioning, and production line qualifications
• Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
• Help maintain technical documentation and provide training to production personnel

• PLC programming (Siemens or Allen-Bradley preferred)
• Industrial control systems and automation
• Electrical troubleshooting and schematics
• HMI systems and industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet)

• Process improvement methodologies
• Manufacturing equipment knowledge
