Junior Equipment Engineer

About this role

Gotion Inc. seeks a Junior Equipment Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of lithium battery manufacturing equipment at their new Manteno, IL facility. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in industrial automation and battery production, working alongside senior engineers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you'll do

• Assist with installation, commissioning, and validation of electrode, coating, stacking, and cell assembly equipment
• Support equipment acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) and maintain detailed documentation
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation issues
• Collect and analyze equipment performance data to identify optimization opportunities
• Develop and update standard operating procedures and work instructions for production teams
• Coordinate with vendors, process engineering, quality, and production teams to meet manufacturing goals

• Industrial equipment and automation systems knowledge
• Technical drawing and manual interpretation
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
• PLC, HMI, or sensor experience (preferred)
• CAD software proficiency (preferred)
