About this role

GovSignals is seeking platform engineers to build foundational data and deployment infrastructure for an AI-powered government contracting platform. You'll own systems managing 5,000+ live data sources across commercial SaaS, FedRAMP High, and IL5 environments while working directly with the CTO and cofounders.

What you'll do

  • Design and scale data ingestion, storage, and search infrastructure across 10,000+ government sources using Postgres, S3, and continuous pipelines
  • Deploy one codebase across three security environments: commercial SaaS, AWS GovCloud FedRAMP High, and IL5 restricted networks
  • Build compliance into platform architecture with automated CVE remediation and secure-by-default services
  • Develop infrastructure supporting AI agents as first-class users with agentic harnesses and automated remediation loops
  • Integrate customer data and support thousands of enterprise users managing billions in government contracts
  • Collaborate with deployment and sales teams on technical customer engagement

What they're looking for

  • Backend or platform infrastructure engineering (5+ years)
  • Postgres internals and data modeling
  • Kubernetes in production
  • TypeScript or Python backend services
  • Systems scaling and performance optimization
  • Security-first mindset in regulated environments
  • AI tool proficiency and understanding
  • FedRAMP, IL, or similar compliance experience (nice-to-have)
