About this role

GovSignals seeks a Product Engineer to own customer-facing product areas end-to-end, shipping features daily in a fast-paced startup building AI-powered government contract management. You'll work directly with founders, decompose ambiguous problems into shippable increments, and use AI pair-programming tools to accelerate delivery across a TypeScript full-stack.

What you'll do

  • Own high-impact product areas and ship customer-facing features from whiteboard to production daily
  • Rapidly iterate on UI, UX, and application logic based on user feedback and production data
  • Decompose ambiguous product goals into clear engineering plans and measure outcomes
  • Monitor production metrics, troubleshoot issues in real time, and ensure reliability of shipped features
  • Use AI pair-programming tools to multiply productivity and drive team adoption
  • Collaborate with design, founders, customers, and support to understand pain points and translate feedback into product decisions

What they're looking for

  • Full-stack TypeScript (5+ years)
  • Frontend: Svelte/SvelteKit or React/Next.js
  • Postgres database design, migrations, and query optimization
  • AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf)
  • Systems design and architectural decision-making
  • Problem decomposition and communicating tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
  • CI/CD, automated testing, and production monitoring
  • AI SDK integration, RAG pipelines, or AI agent architectures (nice to have)
