Manufacturing Engineer Intern

About this role

H3X is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support production of advanced electric motors for aviation and industrial applications. You'll work on a low-volume production line with full engineering responsibility, designing fixtures, solving manufacturing problems, and implementing process improvements for the HPDM product family.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with design engineers to establish production requirements and propose novel manufacturing solutions
• Design tools and fixtures to improve manufacturing processes and analyze recurring discrepancies
• Execute testing of new fixtures and process improvements while interfacing with manufacturing teams
• Create and revise process plans and manufacturing BOMs to support production
• Lead LEAN manufacturing initiatives to drive continuous improvement
• Implement manufacturing feedback and design changes in coordination with engineering

What they're looking for

• SolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Mechanical assembly and hands-on manufacturing experience
• Engineering fundamentals and problem-solving
• Written and verbal communication
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• GD&T and 2D part drawing (preferred)
• Inspection methods and metrology equipment (preferred)
• Machining, assembly, and composites knowledge (preferred)
