Mechanical Design Engineer Intern

About this role

H3X Technologies seeks a mechanical design engineering intern to support development of advanced electric motors for sustainable aviation and marine applications. You'll take on full engineering responsibilities across the product line, from conceptual design through testing and validation, working in a small, fast-paced team environment.

What you'll do

• Establish design requirements and conceptualize product architectures for electric motor systems
• Design parts and assemblies in SolidWorks with mechanical analysis including FEA, CFD, and thermal studies
• Generate engineering drawings per ASME and GD&T standards with tolerance stack-ups
• Support prototype development and collaborate with technicians on manufacturing
• Create Design Validation Plans and support testing execution to verify performance and reliability
• Identify workplace hazards and maintain testing and production equipment
