About this role

Hadrian seeks a Staff Software Engineer to design and own the identity and access management foundation for their API Platform, serving aerospace and defense manufacturing systems across cloud and factory floor environments. You'll build authentication, authorization, and credential systems that scale across multi-cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and physical systems while partnering closely with product to make security a first-class developer experience.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement scalable authentication and authorization systems for human operators and machine identities across cloud and factory floor environments
  • Own Hadrian's full authentication stack including SSO, MFA, OIDC/SAML integrations, and service-to-service auth across multiple cloud providers
  • Build fine-grained access control systems (RBAC/ABAC/ReBAC) for internal teams, factory systems, and external API partners
  • Develop credential automation frameworks, APIs, and CLI tools for provisioning, rotation, and policy enforcement
  • Partner with Security to ensure IAM systems meet compliance and audit requirements across distributed systems
  • Set IAM standards across the engineering organization and act as domain expert on access-sensitive architecture decisions
