About this role

Harbinger, an innovative commercial EV company, seeks an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of highly automated powertrain manufacturing systems for Electric Drive Units and chassis assembly. This strategic leadership role requires hands-on expertise in scaling precision e-motor and gearbox production from concept to high-volume manufacturing.

What you'll do

  • Define and implement long-term process and equipment strategy for EV powertrain manufacturing lines including CNC machining, motor winding, assembly, testing, and dyno validation
  • Lead full equipment lifecycle management from requirements definition through vendor selection, design review, factory acceptance testing, installation, commissioning, and production ramp-up
  • Plan and execute new facility and powertrain assembly line setup, including utility integration and automation cell coordination
  • Serve as technical subject matter expert for high-precision automation, servo control, torque fastening, and quality inspection systems
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing optimization with product engineering teams to maximize process capability and minimize assembly complexity
  • Partner with Tier 1 equipment suppliers on technical specifications, negotiations, and performance targets; lead continuous improvement initiatives using statistical analysis and DOE
