About this role
Harbinger seeks a Fastener Engineer to serve as the technical authority for threaded fasteners and structural joining systems across their electric vehicle platforms. You'll define fastener standards, develop torque strategies, oversee joining processes, and lead validation testing to ensure safety-critical joints meet rigorous performance requirements.
What you'll do
- Author and maintain fastener standards, specifications, and supplier quality requirements for bolts, nuts, and related components
- Define and validate tightening strategies, including torque-plus-angle protocols and production torque data review
- Oversee installation and monitoring of structural fasteners, supporting production quality audits and data collection
- Lead joint validation testing (torque-to-failure, push-out/pull-out) and establish in-process monitoring criteria
- Evaluate and optimize coating systems (Geomet, Zinc-Nickel) for corrosion resistance and friction factor consistency
- Travel up to 20% domestically for supplier audits, assembly plant support, and testing activities

- Fastener engineering and assembly joining with 5+ years experience
- DC nutrunners, multi-spindle fixtures, and structural riveting tools configuration
- ISO 261/262 and SAE J429 fastener specifications and property classes (8.8, 10.9, 12.9)
- Carbon steel fastener manufacturing and advanced coating systems
- Torque/angle signature analysis and lot traceability management
- Joint validation and bolt testing methodologies
- Root cause analysis (8D) for fastening failures
- Factory Acceptance Testing and Cpk validation
