Battery Test & Validation Engineer (High Voltage Packs & Modules)

About this role

Heart Aerospace seeks a Battery Test & Validation Engineer to develop and execute comprehensive testing programs for high-voltage lithium-ion battery packs and modules destined for their hybrid-electric regional aircraft. You'll lead test planning, hands-on validation, failure analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure aerospace-grade performance and safety for the ES-30 platform.

What you'll do

• Lead development and execution of comprehensive test plans for battery modules and high-voltage packs for aerospace applications
• Collaborate with design teams on DFMEA, test requirements, and qualification/certification planning
• Create and maintain Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&R), draft test plans, and host Test Readiness Reviews
• Execute hands-on testing including performance, life cycle, environmental, safety, mechanical, thermal, and electrical validation
• Design, build, and integrate test fixtures, data acquisition systems, and control software for accurate testing
• Analyze test data, generate reports, identify failure modes, and perform root cause analysis

• Battery testing and validation (5+ years in high-reliability industries)
• Lithium-ion battery electrochemistry and performance characteristics
• High-voltage battery systems testing and validation
• Battery testing equipment operation (cyclers, environmental chambers, safety equipment)
• Data acquisition and analysis tools (LabVIEW, MATLAB)
• Root cause analysis and problem-solving
• High-voltage systems and safety protocols
• Aerospace standards and certification processes (preferred)
