About this role
Heart Aerospace is hiring a Flight Systems Engineer to design, debug, and certify distributed systems for the ES-30, a 30-passenger hybrid-electric aircraft. You'll lead system-level integration across electrical, mechanical, and software domains while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve type certification.
What you'll do
- Lead cross-functional design of critical aircraft systems with flight science, software, electrical, mechanical, and safety teams
- Debug and troubleshoot system-level issues across electrical, mechanical, and software domains
- Support prototype aircraft bring-up, integration test benches, hardware-in-the-loop, and simulation platforms
- Create and execute system-level integration plans for complete systems or subsystems
- Develop software verification and validation strategies aligned with DO-178C standards
What they're looking for
- System integration and aerospace or automotive experience
- Real-time operating systems (RTOS) and communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, LIN)
- Programming in Rust, C/C++, or Python
- Version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Problem-solving and cross-team collaboration
- Safety-critical standards (DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160G preferred)
- Systems troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Integration testing and validation
Benefits
- Base salary: $118,000–$238,000 USD
