Propulsion Transmission Engineer

About this role

Heart Aerospace seeks a Propulsion Transmission Engineer to design and integrate mechanical power transmission systems for the ES-30 hybrid-electric regional aircraft. You'll lead transmission development from concept through certification, collaborating across propulsion, structures, and software teams to deliver efficient, lightweight solutions for this innovative 30-passenger aircraft.

What you'll do

• Design and develop gearbox and mechanical power transmission systems for hybrid-electric propulsion
• Perform sizing, strength, thermal, and NVH analyses on transmission components
• Conduct nonlinear static and dynamic analysis of structures and rotor systems
• Lead testing, validation, and certification activities aligned with FAA/EASA requirements
• Collaborate with suppliers on component development, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Define requirements and interface specifications for transmission subsystems

• Base salary: $124,000–$155,000 USD
