Turbomachinery Engineer

About this role

Heart Aerospace seeks a Turbomachinery Engineer to lead the design, integration, and certification of hybrid propulsion systems for the ES-30 regional electric aircraft. As a Responsible Engineer, you'll own the turbomachinery development from design through testing, collaborating across disciplines to deliver a certifiable hybrid powertrain.

What you'll do

• Lead design and integration of turbomachinery components including combustion systems, fluid dynamics, and high-speed rotating machinery
• Own full lifecycle of hybrid powertrain design, fabrication, and certification
• Execute system-level testing on engine and propeller test stands
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure integrated, certifiable subsystems
• Develop gas turbine models for high-fidelity digital twin and mission profile optimization
• Interface across mechanical, thermal, electrical, and control systems teams
