Chief Engineer - Airbreathing Propulsion Test

About this role

Hermeus seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the design, construction, and operational launch of an advanced airbreathing propulsion test facility expansion in Jacksonville, FL. You'll serve as the technical authority overseeing all phases from initial concept through commissioning, supporting the company's mission to develop hypersonic aircraft for defense applications.

What you'll do

• Lead end-to-end facility expansion design, requirements definition, and commissioning
• Serve as technical authority and strategic lead for the test facility project
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external contractors
• Coordinate with DoD stakeholders on facility requirements and testing capabilities
• Ensure facility meets current and future propulsion testing needs
• Oversee transition to operational readiness
