Components Manufacturing Engineer - Sheet Metal

About this role

Hermeus, a defense aviation company focused on hypersonic aircraft development, seeks a Sheet Metal Manufacturing Engineer to establish and lead an internal sheet metal fabrication shop in Los Angeles. You'll own the entire process from design optimization through equipment selection, qualification, and production scaling to support rapid prototyping of advanced aerospace components.

What you'll do

• Design and implement sheet metal fabrication processes and workflows
• Procure and qualify manufacturing equipment for the internal shop
• Provide design feedback to optimize component manufacturability
• Lead production ramp-up and oversee quality standards
• Manage end-to-end shop operations and capability development
• Support rapid iteration cycles for hypersonic aircraft components
