Mechanical Engineer

About this role

Hermeus, a defense aviation company, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop high-speed aircraft structures. You'll lead aerostructure projects from concept through testing, working directly with hardware in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

What you'll do

• Design aerostructures including fuselage, empennage, control surfaces, and landing gear systems
• Oversee transition from concept through detailed design phases
• Support fabrication processes and vendor coordination
• Conduct test validation and troubleshooting of aircraft systems
• Collaborate on rapid prototyping and iterative hardware development
• Work with Department of War stakeholders on defense aviation projects
