About this role

Hermeus seeks a Propulsion Component Responsible Engineer to lead the full lifecycle development of flight-critical mechanical and fluid system components for hypersonic aircraft. You'll manage design, prototyping, testing, and qualification of propulsion hardware operating in extreme conditions, collaborating closely with propulsion and vehicle teams.

What you'll do

  • Own development of flight-critical valves, actuators, and integrated propulsion hardware components
  • Lead design through prototyping, testing, and qualification phases
  • Ensure hardware meets requirements for high-pressure, high-temperature, and dynamic flight environments
  • Collaborate with propulsion and vehicle engineering teams throughout development
  • Support transition from development to production
  • Drive rapid iterative prototyping and hardware maturation
