Software Engineering Intern (HMI) - Fall 2026

About this role

Hermeus seeks a software engineering intern to develop human-machine interface software for their Quarterhorse supersonic unmanned aircraft. You'll build control systems and user interfaces using C++ and web technologies, supporting both remote piloting and autonomous flight modes for advanced defense aviation technology.

What you'll do

• Develop HMI software using C++ and TypeScript/JavaScript for unmanned aircraft control systems
• Design and implement user interfaces for remotely piloted and autonomous flight operations
• Build control systems for the Quarterhorse supersonic aircraft platform
• Collaborate on iterative hardware-software integration and prototyping
• Support both hands-on pilot control interfaces and point-and-click autonomy management features
