About this role

Human Computer Lab, a robotics startup, seeks an electrical engineer to design and own the hardware for LeLamp, an expressive consumer robot. You'll develop PCBAs across power, sensing, and actuation subsystems, taking designs from schematic through production while performing hands-on bench work and collaborating closely with the founding team.

What you'll do

  • Design and validate PCBAs for robot subsystems including power distribution, motor control, sensing, and compute
  • Develop electrical concepts and conduct trade studies to guide architecture decisions
  • Own schematics and PCB layout through fabrication, bring-up, and rapid iteration
  • Debug hardware issues systematically and support cross-functional integration with firmware
  • Perform hands-on bench work including soldering, rework, probing, and board bring-up
  • Review designs, layouts, and BOMs from teammates and external vendors

What they're looking for

  • PCB schematic design and layout (Altium or equivalent)
  • Power electronics and motor control
  • Soldering, rework, and prototyping
  • Microcontroller or FPGA programming
  • Signal integrity and analog circuit troubleshooting
  • Embedded robotics hardware experience
  • Technical documentation and issue resolution
  • Cross-functional collaboration in fast-moving environments
