About this role
Human Computer Lab, a robotics startup, seeks an electrical engineering intern to design and validate PCBAs for LeLamp, an expressive consumer robot. You'll work hands-on from schematic through board bring-up, debugging hardware and supporting system integration with the founding team in San Francisco.
What you'll do
- Design and validate PCBAs for power distribution, motor control, sensing, and compute subsystems
- Perform hands-on bench work including soldering, rework, probing, and board bring-up
- Debug hardware issues systematically and document findings
- Support schematic and layout work from fabrication through testing and iteration
- Review schematics, layouts, and BOMs with teammates
- Collaborate on system integration and hardware-firmware cross-boundary debugging
What they're looking for
- PCB design using Altium or similar tools (schematics and layout)
- Soldering and component rework
- Oscilloscope and signal probing
- Power electronics and motor control experience
- Microcontroller or embedded systems programming
- Robotics hardware or sensing systems knowledge
- Strong analog and digital circuit fundamentals
- Technical documentation and problem-solving
