Position Overview

Requirements

• Advanced training in a tooling related field is a plus but not required
• Two years of hands on experience in injection molding or a similar skilled trade
• Must possess a valid Drivers License
• Must be willing and able to take an active role in plant wide safety activities
• Must be able to work overtime
• Must be able to work an off shift at the company’s discretion
• Knowledge of use of measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
• Basic knowledge in the use off machine tool equipment (mills, lathe, surface grinders)
• Must be able to read and understand mold prints.
• Must be able to drive company vehicles used in the delivery and retrieval of molds from local vendors.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining and/or repairing injection molds and zinc diecast tools
• Responsible for making replacement components for tooling

• Responsible for preventative maintenance and in house location of all tooling

• Detecting mold component failure.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work space
• Maintain a safe work environment.

Essential Functions

• Lift molds and components by hand weighing up to 35 pounds on a daily basis
• Push or pull mold plates and components across work surfaces weighing up to 100 pounds on a daily basis
• Ability to bend and stretch while picking up small parts or batches of parts up to 35 pounds on a regular basis
• Work while standing or seated at a table for up to 7 hours per shift
• Work while standing at a machine or assembly bench for up to 7 hours per shift
• Utilize hand tools and equipment requiring manual dexterity for up to 6 hours per shift.

Work with chemical cleaners and solvents employed in removing molded parts from tooling for up to 6 hours per shift with proper PPE.
