About this role

Iambic Therapeutics seeks a Machine Learning Scientist to fine-tune Enchant, a multimodal transformer model, for clinical prediction tasks in drug discovery. You'll manage the full lifecycle from dataset curation and model development to production deployment, working across ML and clinical teams to enable better therapeutic decisions.

What you'll do

  • Fine-tune large-scale multimodal transformer models for clinical and biomedical applications
  • Identify, curate, and evaluate datasets for PK/PD, toxicity, adverse events, and clinical trial outcome prediction
  • Develop rigorous experimental frameworks that prevent data leakage across multiple dimensions
  • Design benchmarking and evaluation frameworks with appropriate calibration and uncertainty quantification
  • Collaborate with ML engineers and clinical scientists to deploy models and translate results into drug discovery insights
  • Produce high-quality, reproducible research and engineering code with thorough documentation

What they're looking for

  • Python and deep learning implementation (PyTorch/TensorFlow)
  • Clinical dataset handling and domain knowledge
  • Data science fundamentals (cleaning, EDA, feature engineering, evaluation)
  • Modern ML infrastructure (Docker, CUDA, Kubernetes, experiment tracking)
  • Strong software engineering practices and testing
  • Statistical rigor and experimental design
  • Multi-task learning (preferred)
  • Large-scale computing/HPC (preferred)
